When are PSAT results announced?
How long will it take to announce PSAT results? Or, when are PSAT scores released in 2022? You will usually receive your PSAT results within six to eight weeks of taking the test in December.
Thus, the first online release of PSAT Score 2022 Results will take place in the first week of December. Like last year, PSAT scores for 2021 were made public on December 6 and 7. Students usually receive their results on a different date depending on where they took the exam.

Your school will determine the specifics of the PSAT. If your school does not offer PSAT sign-up or requires all 11th-grade students to take the test, you may need to arrange to take the PSAT elsewhere.
Ask your school how they plan and administer the PSAT by September 1 to make sure you’re not left without a score. Don’t worry if you don’t like your school approach, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to think about and make arrangements for other options.
Step 2: Check your PSAT scores online in December
PSAT results are expected to be released in the first week of December (the exact date of your results depends on the location or state in which you took the test). You will receive an email when your results are ready to view.
If you enter your email address in your answer key on the day of the exam, you will receive an email informing you when your exam results will be available. A special access key will be provided in the email, allowing you to access your score online. Even if you don’t enter an email address in your answer key on the day of the exam, you can still view your exam results online.
If you have not previously registered an account, you will need to create a free College Board account to view your results. If you don’t have an account with the College Board, set one up immediately to save time. To get your PSAT results after logging in, click on “PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, and PSAT 8/9 Scores.” You will then be redirected to a page that displays your PSAT results.

Step 3: Schools can provide PSAT paper reports
Beginning in fall 2021, the College Board no longer sends paper PSAT reports to schools. In previous years, school papers were handed out to students in the first week of January.
Although it is not mandatory, schools are still free to print and disseminate their student score reports. You can ask your school counselor if you will receive a paper report in addition to your online report.
PSAT Scores: What Comes After?
After the completion of your PSAT results, you have the following options.
Option 1: Create a National Merit Scholarship Scheme.
If your PSAT score is high enough and you are a junior, you may be eligible to compete for a semifinalist position in the National Merit Scholarship Competition. The top 1% of PSAT test takers, or approximately 16,000 children, receive a semifinalist rank each year through this program.
The only criteria for semifinalist status in this program is your PSAT results. If you want to secure a scholarship, it’s wise to know your exact score before taking the PSAT because it varies based on the state.
If you are selected as a semifinalist, keep in mind that getting to the finals requires a little more work, including maintaining a good GPA. Research all the requirements needed to lay the foundation for becoming a National Merit Finalist by your senior year.
Option 2: Repeat the PSAT as a junior
Repeating the PSAT in your junior year is a good option if you’re taking it as a freshman or sophomore and are an early bird who wants to be considered for National Merit and eventually get a very high SAT (or ACT) score.
Taking the PSAT as a freshman or sophomore is beneficial because it gives you early exposure to SAT question style. Additionally, it lets you know your areas of weakness and the skills you need to develop in your preparation, thus improving your chances of making it to the National Merit Semi-Finals and achieving your target SAT/ACT score in your first or second. try
Option 3: SAT Prep (or ACT)
The primary goal of the PSAT is to prepare students for the SAT, which they will take either in the fall of their junior year or their senior year, just before they are admitted to university.
Your PSAT score is a reliable indicator of how you will perform on the SAT. This indicates that if you get a PSAT score of 1200, you can attempt the SAT without any further preparation. Also, you can probably achieve a better SAT score!
You can use the PSAT to prepare for both the SAT and ACT tests, as they have the same structure. (Remember, however, that while they are similar, there are a few differences between the two tests, the most significant being the ACT’s addition of a science component. Additionally, if you plan to take the ACT, it may be wise to take the PreACT instead of the PSAT.)
Don’t lose hope if you get a low PSAT score. Instead, try to analyze what went wrong and use that information to increase your knowledge and ability to perform better on the SAT or ACT.
Even if you get a perfect PSAT score, you still need to go through the process of checking for your mistakes because the PSAT and SAT don’t cover the same material. The maximum PSAT score is 1520, not 1600 for the SAT. This is because the SAT has more trigonometric and more difficult math problems. It examines more difficult grammar rules and includes higher-level reading passages. Therefore, even if you get a good score on the PSAT, your SAT score does not have to be flawless.
